April Ross
April Ross was one of only a few women beach volleyball stars who won medals in multiple Olympics. Alix Klineman, playing for the first time at the Tokyo Olympics is hoping to secure her third Olympic medal. Ross's aim is to get her first Olympic Gold. And at the age of 39, this could be her final chance to do so. Nevertheless she is confident that winning the gold medal is within reach. Ross said on NBC Boston: "If we perform our best and If we play our best, I think we could get the gold medal." Also, I'll take the opportunity to try my luck. Ross was a Californian born in Costa Mesa in 1982. Her family lived in the area with her father, mother and sibling. Along with participating in a variety of sports, Ross also attended Newport Harbor High School. As a pre-schooler she was a participant in basketball, indoor volleyball and running track. But she clearly was a cut above the rest when it came to the second sport. Through her high school years, she played middle blocker outside hitter and setter in the court for volleyball per her bio at the college. As a tribute to her efforts, she received the Gatorade Award for the National Player of 1999. The skills she showed in volleyball also brought her the Orange County Athlete of the Awards in the year 2000. Ross and Klineman have been continuing to play in the year 2017. The reality is that Ross was an important player in the beach volleyball scene before the pairing. The fact is, she's had numerous big wins and one of them was a renowned volleyball player. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 to the year 2013. Kessy and Ross were strong on the world circuit, winning the world championship in 2009 together. This duo went into winning a silver in the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the team to beat out for gold. Ross was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's resignation. The pair won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross competed for USC Trojans during her college days, prior to becoming a professional. The Trojans had a great performance for Ross during her time at the school. As a freshmen in 2000 the Trojans' performance earned her the Pac-10 and NCAA Young Player of the Year awards. The team also saw her help in helping the Trojans to make it to the Final Four. The second season of her career she was devastated by a personal tragedy, but managed to earn the honor of being named an All-American. During her final two seasons in the Trojans in the program the team was led to success by winning two the national title in consecutive years. Her individual achievements have cemented her as a volleyball legend. She was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the best female college player. Ross was a student of the study of international relations in USC. Margie Ross did not see her daughter make it to the top of beach volleyball. Ross's mom died from breast carcinoma in the year 2001. Ross had just become a second-year student at USC. But she still keeps her parents close to her heart. Also, Margie remains a source of inspiration to her on the beach and in the world of.
