Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and a businesswoman. She's co-founder as well as director of Thrive Global, as well as the writer of fifteen books. Forbes identified her as being the 12th most influential female on the planet in 2009 and Guardian has also placed her on the top 100 list of media the same year. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and she was made president of the group of media. The acquisition included numerous AOL properties of the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli was the youngest daughter of Konstantinos the journalist who is also a management consultant. Though she was close to her father, it was her bond with her mother which shaped her entire life. Even in her early childhood she showed the skills of leadership for which she is now well-known. When she turned 16 she moved to the United Kingdom to pursue her studies. She enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. At the time of her studies she was a member of the Cambridge Union debating group where she was elected the first female president, and also the only foreign president. In 1972, she earned a Masters in Economics. After graduating, she worked as a columnist critic, and a television host. Also, she appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using his assistance in editing.
