Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American voice actor, director producer and vocalist. She is an attractive, talented actress who has helped numerous Asian actors to succeed in Hollywood. Following a string of appearances in television shows that were popular and movies, she gained fame after being cast as a character in Ally McBeal legal comedy where she played Ling Woo. Following her fame, she got important parts for her in Shanghai Noon (1998) and Charlie's Angels (2000). In Kill Bill Volume 1, Quentin Tarantino, she gave an outstanding performance as Japanese crime lord O-Ren Shii. At the same time she was also in box-office flops like Rise: Blood Hunter. In later years, she worked as voice actor for animated movies, such as Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia and other small screen roles failed to bring her any success. Southland's critically-acclaimed police drama, Southland and a recurring performance helped Liu to reestablish herself as an established actress. Liu takes great care when picking her roles to ensure that she is not cast in a very intensely competitive field. While she embraces her roots, it hasn't limited her in her professional work being an artist.
